Identify this potato?
« on: December 31, 2023, 17:46 »
This is the last of these lovely potatoes, and I'd love to grow them again...but I can't remember what they are! They are yellow, waxy, with a buttery taste. They grew to a medium size, no large ones for baking and I've kept them well in a paper sack in the garage. Can anyone look at the photo attached and help me remember what they are, please? The piece of paper is pure white and the matchstick is for scale.

Very difficult to know for sure, but when did you dig them up? How long were they in the ground? Where did you buy the seed tubers from?

Waxy potatoes are, generally, more likely to be a first early or second early variety.

Charlotte is a common variety so it could be that, but there are other varieties which other forum members may suggest.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

We're they store/shop bought of from a seed potato supplier, it may help  identify them!
