Yesterday’s home harvest of green veg.

Not masses, but not bad from a couple of small raised beds and a trough  :)

I'm replying here because it is not obvious to me how to post in the Forums (no 'New Topic' button). Anyway on the subject of strawberries, should I remove the big leaves to allow the sun to get at the green fruits so they ripwn better? thanks.

I was given a large handful of broad beans in return for a couple of lettuces I gave them, I also harvested a lovely primo cabbage,  radishes, kohl Rabi & beetroot all from the tunnel. I also harvested a cauliflower from outside but unfortunately it was blown, my fault as I’d folded the leaves over last week but hadn’t taken in to consideration the hot weather , hopefully the other 4 will be better  :D

Flying visit this morning to sprinkle slug pellets around some crops before the rain comes tonight and brings the slime mob out to play, but bonus picking session thrown in  :)

A couple of lettuces, mangetout peas, the first of the Wizard beans and garlic scapes. There are also strawberries to pick in the raised beds at home, so off to get them in a minute.

Lettuce by the hundredweight & cabbages from the tunnel (primo) that I was given as seedlings, must say the greyhound ones I’ve grown from seed have a firmer heart so will be better value for space taken up

First of the Charlotte potatoes some broccoli and cabbage leaves, half a dozen eggs off the bantams and a sprig of mint to go with a nice piece of lamb tomorrow.
