why do you need the blades sharp ?? my local garden center has a box full of mountfield blades and is itching to sell them.
always have a target
and an objective.

Well, I dont know why they need to be sharp? Just that a few folks have said to me that they need sorting. It works well enough for me with some control, I think I have answered my own question there haven't I. Maybe I will carry on with it till they fall off! Prob' could sharpen the blades myself, if I had the patience. Thanks guys.

the  ground does not mind how sharp your blades are, your engine if 3 hp or more wil cope just point it at the garden and go for it  :x

the reason you are being told you need the blades sharp is because your local garden centre has a box full of them.
if they're worn down, thats something else entirely.
the blades on a rotovator are self sharpening be default, as they are worn away by the soil :wink:

graham,i need a pic realy to explain but i will have a go
its a b&s 5hp with the tank on the bottom of the carb
get you the number if it helps
what i'm after is the spring that is on the bottom bit where the throttle cable joins the plastic thingy that slides
