My OH loves Jersey royals and i found out a couple of days ago that they are international kidney potatoes, and only called jersey royals due to where they are grown.
Has anyone grown these and if so, did they crop well and where they as good as the ones from Jersey, taste wise?
Thanks
Andy

Haven't grown them, but I've heard and read many stories of disappointment, some of which will be on the board. In Jersey they are grown on steep south-facing (I think) slopes with rakes of seaweed, conditions which it is hard for most to emulate.

This has cropped up (see what I did there?) as few times in the past. Generally people are disappointed with the resulting flavour. (I grew them once - enough said).
The answer lies in the soil. You won't be growing them in soil enriched in seedweed for generations.
I'll find a few links.
