All good apart from the need to thicken the sauce somewhat watery??

Don't forget a lot of supermarket meat is pumped full of water and preservatives there's no escape for in the slowcooker and it really alters the liquid balance.

I really miss having a single oven, it feels such a waste to put a large one on for a few oven chips or a bit of chicken.   If it wasn't for the constant clutter of gadgets everywhere I'd switch to an air fryer. Between the slow cooker and that I doubt I'd use a traditional oven anymore.

We gave up on our big oven and bought a Morphy Richards 28L Mini Oven with Hob which sits on a lower shelf (er-hem, Growsterkitchenshelves Inc)., and do everything in that for just the two of us.

It'll grill, blow-cook, roast etc., and makes a mean pizza whenever!

The rings are pretty slow, but work well as long as you time everything properly, and with a couple of gas-rings close by, (using small cylinders), we manage everything from a big roast to a burger!

And if anyone could explain how a Combi-Microwave works, I'd like to know, because it really is something out of NASA, but it does warm the plates well - and make a superb porridge!
