I think it depends on how big the area you have them in is. I have my turkeys and quails together and they get along fine but the turkeys are quite placid. The runs are next to each other and i do sometimes open them up together and they get on fine when there is not any treats around but if i throw corn down the chickens can be very aggressive towards the turkeys mainly but towards the quails too if they get too close. There are lots of places for them to hide where only the quails can get into though which helps and my run is 30ft x 30ft.

So i think it depends on how big the run is and how many places there are for the quails to hide. The run will need to be netted or roofed in some way to stop the quails flying out though.

I would be inclined to keep the quails and chickens separate.
11 bantams (and counting!) 2 dogs 1 cat

As a general rule quails equate to a nice snack for a chicken :(
I love Pekins, Polands and Seramas :) and eggs!!!

Doesn't work in my experience. I hatched quail along with some chickens and kept them together in the brooder. They were fine up until they were about 8 weeks when the chickens began picking on the quails and pulled all of their back feathers out. They were immediately seperated and now live in sperate runs (although they are next to one another) where the quail can happily stick their tongues out at the chucks!  :tongue2:

Are quails noisey to keep? Also can you put them in the same run as chickens?
