soil seive
« on: September 03, 2008, 17:18 »
I am thinking of making a large free standing soil seive. The concept is to use something like a bread tray or a frame with chicken wire, suspending it from a frame so it is free to swing. Idealy I want it to be collapsible so was thinging of a hinged a frame. I wondered if anyone had made something like this before and had any gems of wisdom before I plan it out.

Thats a great idea to use wire supermarket baskets. It would be the ideal size to use over the wheel barrow . I will ask in our loacal one about how they dispose of damaged ones and maybe get hold of one that way :)

I made a frame which fits over my wheelbarrow with netting wire on it. But I put it too tight so the compost bounces off.   A basket would be better I think.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
