Can anyone tell me if I need to protect onion seedlings from pigeons?or do they not normally bother?thanks

Even the blackbirds have managed to avoid pulling out my transplanted onion seedlings so far this year (although it could be their eyesight just isn't good enough to actually see the feeble, skinny little things!)   :wacko:  :lol:
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I have planted mine out today.Remind me to make sure I buy onion sets in time next year...anyone!nightmare...fiddly little beggars!! :wacko:

You want to try planting 200 banana shallot plants. One every 3" in a 32' row!

I planted out 110 onion seedlings last weekend, mixture of Beds Champs and Ailsa Craig. I've still got another 80 to go :)

My onions are covered against rabbits. They dig everwhere  :nowink:  They also like the green tops when there's nothing much else on offer
