Dirty bottoms!
« on: April 19, 2009, 08:40 »
Hi all, cor what a week it has been, anyway yesterday  my daughter pointed out how dirty two out of my four hens bottoms are. There feathers are not clean and fluffy they look  rather dirty compared to my other two newer hens. Is it normal to have a dirty bum at the tender age of 18mths old? They have regular dust baths, eat drink and lay normally.

Thanks HENrietta :)

Mine usually get dirty bottoms when they need worming.  Are their poos runny, they can also get runny poos with worms.  If so worm them using Flubenvet, you can get it online, it kills all worms and eggs.  You should really Flube then twice a year to be on the safe side.
