"The useful things you find in skips" !
« on: April 07, 2011, 11:52 »

How's this for a 'find' then ?  :D :D :D

I think an afternoon in the shed with an angle grinder and a 'cow 'ide knock stick' will turn this vast utensil into a very good strawberry planter with room in the top for a tomato plant or two and even a few lettuces and carrots.  A good present for my niece.   Cheers,   ::) Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I've got a mahoosive pan like that in stainless steel. It came from Lidl, so that might be the place to look.... Back on topic, great find! :D

Iggyboy there is absolutely no need to be rude to other members.  Please remember that.

There is also no need for other members to get on their moral high horse one minute and fall off it the next. The term one rule for one and a different rule for others screams out at me here. If I was in the wrong by going into a skip without permission, so was Kleftiwallah, right? So why has GranniAnnie decided Kleftiwallah was fine 'stealing', but I was in the wrong?

If you read Kleftiwallahs post nowhere does it say he stole it from a skip - taking anything from a skip is illegal without the owners permission and have you not realised that Grannie Annie was trying to be helpfull and perhaps saving anybody who does so from getting a fine and a criminal record.
There is no rule for one and another for others we as a forum have to point out if anything is illegal.

one of the skips I 'raid' regularly is the metal skip at work, it actually saves the company money as it costs a bit to get it sent for proper recycling. quite often there is old steel conduit in there - great for bean poles. - And yes our facilities people have given permission. got a perfectly good collander that someone had thrown in there the other week, supposedly disposal of personal household items is frowned upon in the company skips, so I was helping keep someone else out of trouble there too.
