Title: Growing hops

would this best be grown in the open or in a greenhouse? i have had a few home brew kits already and apart from the clearing i have had little problems to date, well apart from too strong but life is such!

i know hops will take a year to get settle but after 2 seasons they should be ok! weather depending?

I've just spent about an hour up ladders clearing wild hops out of the branches of an apple tree - a bit of a conflict there - beer or apple juice?

Be careful where you plant them or they will scramble up everything and tear your skin as you brush past them.

Hops are easy to grow and start with a rizome? type root. Plant as soon as you can to get a good start for next season.
Make sure you get a female plant as the male does not produce any fruit.
They are very hardy and will grown 15 -20ft there are dwarf varieties available.
They have a cling nature as all rambling plants and some can be aq bit rough on th skin/ hands.
