Earlibird for me! Sweet, hard to kill, fast growing and crops well.  The other people rave about is Swift, I believe

The last 3 years I have grown Tasty Gold F1 kings seed, planted in a nice big block 40 -50 plants the cobs are huge. We just love it a real taste of summer and we are still munching on it from the freezer, although we are on the last few cobs.
Optimism probably a gardeners best tool.

I grow Swift after recommendations on here, and love it!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I have always grown Lark before and it is exceptional. Last year though I found them a bit TOO sweet! Almost sickly sweet, so am changing to one called Ambrosia this year as the cobs look lovely.

I am new to the gardening lark but everyone is telling me to look for a sweet variety as the growing season is short up North (I'm in Yorkshire) Hope this helps  :nowink:

Sweetness is not necessarily related to suitability for northern climates.  What you need to look for is varieties which are suitable for northern climates e.g. with short growing seasons.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
