Spicing up HAGGIS
« on: September 07, 2013, 11:30 »
I have 3 haggis which I have cut into portions. I had one yesterday, and it seems the butcher forgot to put in any spices! What spices can I add before cooking the next portion to liven it up?  What would 'go'?  I thought black pepper and nutmeg but I think maybe that's not quite right.  Suggestions most welcome, Many thanks, Mags

you're part-way there - dried coriander and mace are used a lot, plus salt obviously.

good luck with the rescue!

Don't forget the most important ingredient.  A big slug of single malt!  I suggest Talisker of Glen Morrangie. ::)

Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I'm more partial to some Jura or Highland Park  :)

Thanks all.  Coriander and Mace I will do -  but as I prefer my Scotch neat and single I will skip the whisky.
