The eggs produced by my Maran hen are getting darker! At first they were darker than the other normal eggs but in the last few days, they have taken on a real chocolate colour. Is this due to the fact that she has been getting much more green food in recent  days?

If you're talkin yolk.  The more greens they get the more orange their yolk will become.

If your talking shell.  My Hattie ( I think she's a Maran) has lovely dark brown shells.  I don't think it's anything to do with diet.

they will become a deep  mahogany colour and then start to get the mr sheen out
