Dealing with turf
« on: April 28, 2013, 21:20 »
I have been creating flower beds and have quite a lot of turf to recycle. Can you advise the quickest way to recycle it on my plot? I'd like to put in my compost pile but understand you have to kill grass and weed roots first.

Is it better to dry it out? Or, is it true you can 'drown' the turf (by submerging it in a barrel)? If so, how long does that take?

Cheers

Stack it up, with 'black to black, and green to green'. Come back in about a year and you'll have lovely loam soil to play with.
