Good luck! Take a spade to test the soil in each. My mother has hard clay one end of our site and I have lovely rich easy to dig soil.

I had the offer of two plots, one was a bit wild and bare naked other than for a few weeds again not too much of a problem. The other was a bit of sad story re elderly gentleman renting the plot, falling out with son who looked after it then giving it up. I did feel a bit guilty, however bought his shed, small cold frame/store and water butt it has raised beds already made up and a few bits and pieces he is leaving as well so went for that one. I'm so excited...

That's a gem of a plot, well done & good choice. Still remember little & often is them best plan, it can take a long time to recover if you hurt yourself.  :( enjoy it & consider starting a diary thread on here to chart your progress.

Looks great  :D most of us would have loved to have got a plot in such good condition.

A good time to get it, too, as the growing season is almost upon us.

What a fab plot! And with leeks and kale standing by the looks of it too. And plenty of space for climbing beans and tomatoes.  ;)

Congrats, it must feel like a lottery win!

Thanks guys, it actually feels better than a lottery win, the plots in great condition and there are still leek, brussels, kale, and turnips there. He had a permanent fruit bed with strawberrys, goosberries and blackcurrants. There is also a plot with asparagus planted as well... I was going to back today but did some seed plantings at home so all is great.  :D :D
