cheap shed
« on: January 30, 2007, 10:25 »
does anyone know where i can get a cheap garden shed to house chooks,
got a hen house but decided its not big enough really for the 4 hens and 2 pullets, not enough roosting room, anyway gonna put hens in shed with attached run, keep pullets in the house i already got until the big ones accept them, them will probably convert that for my guinea pigs, eventually. Also would the shed need to have a window in for daylight???

try freecycle first  chelle. then look at a shiplap shed or solid panelled one . if your good at building you can build one your self from pallets as seen on the poultry pages . i dont like the feather edge boards as they tend to be really draughty ..and yes you need a window to allow light a simple one 1ft squareish  wil do .the bigger the glass the more heat you lose , most diy stores sell decent 6x4 sheds at reasonable prices .£130 ish
still alive /............
