Hi Miajoe, we have just built one as well so will be very interested in the answer, I have painted my shed with couprinol and hoping that you can paint it all with that as I do like matching colours. Regards Mandy

A wood treatment such as cuprinol is best. Ordinary paint will give some protection. Or you could use tanalised timber.

We made raised beds this year. We painted inside and out with fence paint, then lined the insides with black membrane. Hope this helps, and good luck.

I'm just building mine now. Painting all over with cuprinol and lining the inside walls with polythene.

ideally i would use something waterbased like fence paint and like the other reply said also cover with black plastic on the inside. I am a decorator by trade and can assure you not to waste your money on brand names b&q's own brands are equally as good and a third of the price!! :) :)
Good luck with it however you choose to do it.

Untreated wood will last anything from 18 months to several years, depending on the wood type. I have just dismantled some old compost bins made from untreated pallets that I made 8 years ago, they are still ok. Scaffold planks are great if you can get them, and they last years even untreated.
