You missed a trick!  When you take out the sideshoots, make cuttings of the shoots you have removed.  Then you have successional tomatoes.

1.  Gartenperle - these tumbling toms have been producing more cherry toms than I can cope with since the start of July, and show no sign of running out.

2.  Sungold - super colour, great flavour; or Sungella for larger yellow fruits.

3.  Black russian - great flavour, but didn't really ripen out doors.

Yes - this is what his cousin's husband does!
Her toms:

1. Inca - outdoor plum bush type - fantastic for soups, sauces, gentle frying, eating raw

2. Ildi - huge trusses of beautiful small yellow plums. Very sweet. Still picking now, lots more to come (in the poly) Dunno what they will do outside, maybe ok in Spain

3. Alicante - 'ordinary' tomatoes, good flavour, good outside. Reliable cropper. (Downside - tendency to split if not kept watered)
Keep the plot cultivated, that's the best way to ensure its future.

I', with James on this one - except for No. 3

This year  I have grown Ailsa Craig, which was good but next year I am going to try Mirabelle. It's a new variety so pretty vigerous and disease resistant and I understand has good tasting, even standard fruits.

I absolutely couldn't be without my Gardener's Delight - I grow them every year and ever year I think they are fantastic!  The plants are very productive and the flavour of the cherry size toms is altogether out of this world.  Also grow a plum variety - San Marzano which is good for cooking with, and then I think my other usual variety is Moneymaker.
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.

My utmost favourite this year is Green Grape.  Everyone says ugh, green tomatoes, but when they taste them, they are sooooooo sweet!  In fact, 2 people have tried them who don't normally like tomatoes!!!   Also Big Boy, Marmande and Tres Cantos have done well in the beefsteak types.

Yellow Brandy wine are weird shapes, but lovely taste.

Sorry, that's more than 3!!!! lol
