Hayles on here, got 47, mainly from freecycle I think!  Sometimes you see them are car booty's, and there wre some at our local auctions the other week, but we got there late and I missed them!  local papers?

Freecycle there's always loads on ours, what I want is a glass bottle cutter. Then I could cut off the bottom of demi-johns and use them as bell cloches. And then flog em!
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Try your local craft shop for a "Bottle Chopper" or you can get one online at http://www.stainedglass.co.uk/botlchop.htm

Chopping demi-johns : I read somewhere (maybe even on here) that you tie some string around the base of the demi-john.  Wet with lighter fuel & set light.  Then dip in cold water and tap the inside base (with dowel or summat).  I will search.

Yes that's right whisky but it's not that reliable for a good straight edge due to the slight impurities in the glass and other variables.
That's where the bottle cutters come up trumps
