Rotovator Joy
« on: August 11, 2011, 18:53 »
After almost two years of struggling with our two plots and still not having it all dug, and with two knackered rotavators to our credit, my lad & I have finally hit the big time.

The Mountfield M1 fell apart after a few hours use when the tie bar through the centre of the chassis sheared off, and we've not been able to find anyone capable of extracting the remains of the bolt so that it can be repaired.

The Wolseley Tiller Professional we bought off Ebay as a replacement barely made it out of the starting blocks as it just had too many faults to make it worthwhile, it was just one problem after another.

But as a 'Thank You' for the countless hours my lad & I have put into landscaping the gardens at my parents new home over the past couple of years, they told us to find a decent reliable machine for our plot, and they would buy it us.

Well, we've just purchased a Honda F501, fully serviced with a 4.5 HP engine, and spent the last 3 hours over the plot with it. It's fantastic - starts first time & runs like a dream, and chews up and spits out everything we throw at it. It's transformed the plot already, and will make life so much easier from now on. Things are looking up indeed  :D
