morning all..i was thinking of planting potatoes in the poly tunnel when the tomatoes are finished around sept/octoba..would this work..and where would i get seed potato that time of year..any thoughts   ty

Too cold.  Plant them July/Aug in bags then move them into the pt when it gets cold.  They can stay there for quite some time, but after flowering I cut the halums and leave them until it gets really cold then I harvest and store them. Had Christmas spuds last year this way.  If you start too later they don't have enough time, heat, light to develop.

You will need a good feed after tomatoes. Everybody sells them in the summer for x-mas new potatoes, though the general agreement here used to be that they are not worth it. So you might as well save some small tubers from healthy plants of earlies. Hide them in a biscuit tin in sand in a dark, cool place for a couple of months.
