It's not just the pic, I tend to be a bit heavy handed with the watering can.  I've disciplined myself a bit, will probably find them all shrivelled next time I visit!   :(

I'm assuming you're asking a general question, Bailz, rather than about this particular variety (if so, it's always best to start your own thread rather than tagging on the end of a thread about something slightly different).

No it is not too late to start off tomatoes.  I will be doing mine this weekend as I don't have a greenhouse to grow them on in, and they otherwise would get too leggy indoors.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

If it's not too late, I've got 4 remaining seeds. If you'd like to try them, Bailz, pm me and I'll pop them in the post.

Just repotted my toms into their final position.  They're doing ok, no flowers yet, though none of the other varieties I planted have either.  Just need a bit of sun now...

I've been growing Brandywine for a few years now & find they grow much better outside. (well they do for me).

Here's a 1.25 lb'er from a couple of years back:

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

That's a beauty!  Will be very happy if I get a crop like that.  :) I've got a spare plant so might pop it outside, did you wait until the first flowers or was yours started outside? Thanks.

this is my first year of growing Brandywine and they are already about 4ft high ..but at the very top i can see some flowers forming....not sure if this should be counted as a success or not ::) if they turn into fruit so high up, surely they will topple over?  even though i have built quite a sturdy frame for them.  any advice will be gratefully recieved ;)

Well Goose, as you can see, mine are mere tidlers so far. Looking at all the fine specimens on show here, I'm beginning to get a bit of a complex, hoping the Salford summer will spur them onwards....

I had great success with Pink Brandy Wine last year, they grew as large as my hand rather like DDs fine example, I was so proud and they tasted delicious. I grew 1 outside and 1 in the green house, both grew well, however in the green house they where more prone to splitting due to watering issues/humidity probably. Good luck and watch with interest  ::)

I'm a little late the year, but not too worried about it, mine are about the same size as your piccie of 6.06 p.m. yesterday, currently sitting outside hardening off, ready to be popped out in a week or so, weather forecast being favourable,

I've grown Roma and some little cherry tomatoes this year and they're all doing well..adn in the cold frame....but, forgot about growing brandywines...ordered some seeds which came on Saturday...
So the question is....is it still worth a punt putting some seeds in or shall I wait until next year?

Give it a go, particularly if you have some space in the G/House.

If you're over this way again soon Annie, I can spare a few plants.
