Title: Stir or Sprinkle?
Post by: MidlandBrewer on October 30, 2016, 21:11
It's a question that's been discussed at length in books and on YouTube home brew channels, but what do you do when adding yeast to your ale wort? Do you stir or do you sprinkle?

I brew quite a bit of beer  ;) understatement

I brew 'all grain', the yeast, I mix into 150 ml of water at 20 degrees and then pitch the yeast into the brew in the fermentation vessel.

I pitch in too, but if I really had to introduce dry yeast into the wort then I'd probably sprinkle a top fermenting yeast and stir in a bottom fermenting yeast as it 'feels right', but in fairness this is just a guess
