Shed Size
« on: November 02, 2009, 13:43 »
bit of advice needed here...

I know its a random questions, but what size shed does everyone reccommend for an allotment. My lottie has no shed so I am going to have to buy one (i've already looked on freecycle etc) so what size is the best people have found for their lots? I just dont want to get one too small and then wish I had got a bigger one.

1st check your site's rules and reg's there may be a max size and /or a siteing guide.
Ours are not within so many foot of the edge of your plot.
After that I reckon and 8x6 is a fair size for a few tools and somewhere to sit out the rain. Probaby bigger if you have family or friends that come down with you.  :)

Our max size is 2m square. My shed is 6x4, cheapest I could find and is big enough for chair, stove, tools and some shelves of stuff.
I keep bags of compost and huindreds of random plastic containers in my greenhouse.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Dear plot holder.
you must remove your shed instantly as your size limit is 2m square and your shed is 2.2326m square.
if you do not remove the offending shed within 48hrs of this notice a member of the committe will take a chainsaw to the offending corner.
Regards your caring committe. :nowink:

we got a 6x4 and am considering somat bigger.
dont permissum dandelions frendo vos down.

If it cant be pulled by hand,
1; its not ready
2; use a landrover...
