I am thinking of buying a soil warming cable, it looks like i will have to buy on line, is there a good suppler you can recomend.
I was going to get just the cable first then after I'v save up get the thermostat.
Any tips.

try Two Wests and Elliott, my first cable and thermostat was from them and is still going strong after over ten years and I have just bought a new cable and thermostat which came all wired together and ready to go for another propogator I am building from them. Excellent service.

If you have not already bought one, I can recommend a great place to get both cable and thermo. Together or separately.
I bought together  (with 6 mtr cable ) for £40.00. Costs slightly more than buying one at a time plus x2 shipping.
Brand is Parasene, makers of greenhouse heaters. Mine is working really well.

You HAVE to have a thermostat or the warming cable will not know when to turn off the power.  It is the thermostat that controls the electricity to the soil warming cable.
