Title: Honda Tiller FG201
Post by: greenhead on May 31, 2013, 12:52
Hi, this tiller is about 5 years old and does not get a lot of use.  I have noticed an oil leak dripping out of the air filter.  On investigation the oil appears to be leaking past the bolt head that holds the filter back plate on.  Any ideas which could cause this leak, the obvious one is a loose bolt but should that cause the oil leak?

Hi, I have been in touch with the supplier and they think the oil has come from the sump breather tube which exits into the carb. air filter, so when I have been cleaning the tines by tilting the tiller to get access oil has escaped.  I have down loaded the workshop manual and this clearly shows the location of the breather tube entering the air filter assembly.

So owners, if you tilt the tiller for a period of time expect traces of oil to trickle out of the air filter housing.
