Tomatoes
« on: October 18, 2020, 19:01 »
I haven’t done very well the past couple of years with cherry sized tomatoes. They have had thick skins and haven’t tasted as good. I have put this down to hotter summers as I haven’t had a problem before.

I had been thinking a larger tomato would be better for us now anyway.

So would anyone like to tell me their favourite medium tomato please.
I am growing in a greenhouse and am interested in taste rather than quantity.

Thanks
Elaine

There is a Patio Hybrid that I've grown in years past, determinate, usually just a couple feet tall, perfect for containers, good flavor, productive.  You'll need to check and see if seeds are available in your area.

A widely available one that I like is Tigerella.  The taste is good and they are quite productive.  Other ones I like to grow are a bit harder to find - I think Simpson's Seeds have them, are Essex Wonder and Cavendish.

Thank you for your replies.

I don’t think Patio Hybrid is available in the UK, unfortunately although I will check again tomorrow.

Essex Wonder and Cavendish do seem to be around so I will give one of those a go thanks.
