is it too late to manure?
« on: February 28, 2010, 20:28 »
I forgot to manure my raised beds in the autumn. Do others think it's too late/a waste of time doing it now as it won't get worked into the soil enough. I have some well rotted stuff left over from last year, what would you do? thanks all

Bung it on. You can never have enough muck on your plot and if it's well rotted all the better. I wouldn't advise putting fresh stuff on at this time of year.

I put some well rotted manure on my raised beds last week, apart from the carrot bed.  Leaving it for the weather/worms to sort out before I use them in a couple of months time.

I hope not!!!

Just spent the day spreading many barrow loads on several beds. For now I've just left it on top but in a few weeks I might dig it in.

5 Bags wont go far.  I get it by the ton, £14 delivered  :)  Only problem our Allotment is down in the bottom of the site, so has to be barrowed down there.
