Hi. I guess this has been covered before! I have a couple of egg lookalike stones under a broody hen. She sometimes scoops up th egg from the other laying one, but invariably the other chicken eats her own egg if I'm not around to stop her. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks.

It is really hard to stop and I didn't manage to stop mine in the end but at least she only eats her own egg and not anyone elses.

Try blowing an egg and filling it with Mustard and hot chilli powder.

ALso try making the bottom of your nestbox slope leaving a channel at the back for the egg to fall into. Once they have laid the egg rolls away to the back and with any luck they will forget about eating it. You don't need any bedding on the nest box floor as this will stop the eggs rolling.
