When to pot seedlings on
« on: March 22, 2010, 09:44 »
I have some pepper seedlings that are just a couple of days old, but I can already see some roots coming out of the bottom of the sutton pellets they're in. Should I already pot them on, or should they stay where they are a little bit longer? I thought it would take a bit longer to get to this stage...

I waited until i got the first true leaves (second set on plant) before potting them on!

Bury them up to the seed leaves in compost to get a stronger plant!

As long as you are gentle and don't damage anything, would be ok to do it now - I sometimes pot things on before true leaves are out, if I think better to do so. But if they're really only a couple of days old they're going to be very fragile so you'll have to be extra gentle if roots are saying it cannot wait.
