[little sweetpeas]

I want to buy some to put in my PT in an aim to get early crops.

What do a buy, plants in pots or bare rooted, can anyone suggest a good variety.

I grow Elsanta they are lovely.  Its the third year of them and I have new plants already potted up from previous years of of the originals.  I don't know about plants or bare rooted I would have thought plants would be quicker as establisehed roots but maybe it makes no difference.  I do know though you supposedly (I haven't tried) that if you poly tunnel or cloche i.e. warmer soil you should get an earlier crop.  Of course when the pollinaters are about and the flowers you will have to let them in to do their job.

Supermarkets so I have read mostly sell elsanta, they are nice sweet and tasty.  Mine come into fruit round about June, bit of July, but then thats it.  You could get other varieties as well you know early mid and late so you have a longer supply.  I tried two others but they died, one was cambridge  and the other was honeyore or something like that.
