Many years ago, a stripling Growster used to listen to this classic being played by his Director of Music, at school. I used to turn the pages for him and he was so quick, I was usually left behind...

How absolutely magnificent, thanks Growster.  And poignant as it was a recording from Notre Dame in Paris.

My Dad could play the church organ and would occasionally do a wedding.  If this was requested as the recessional, he'd pray that the happy couple and most of the guests would exit the church before he got all the way though … as it's a real pig to play!!

I love classical, Pavan just cuts through the noise.

But I've been listening to "In Hell I'll be In good company" because we're all in this together. Or the pot and kettle-it's a pot and kettle giving each other abuse for being black but they were so important in their day. Then they both take into the roasting pan.

Growster, I've just gone "Bach" to a time when I played his toccata in D minor but can't just remember if it was on my piano or an organ I used to play when I visited my teenage friend whose father had an organ with all the stops etc. Think it might have been on my bequeathed piano which my mum made me sell and I've regretted it ever since. I used to play by ear which my music teacher didn't quite realise when I hadn't done my practice for the week. I so wish I could still play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and his Pathétique because I could have opened my windows for any passers by to let them know life's still going on and always will do.

It used to be an old musical 'warhorse', Yorkie; if you could do it, you were one of the best!

Hello I've recently heard Peter and the Wolf played on my local church organ on the flute stop it was played by a visitor from Holland it was that loud people on the road could hear  but it was beautiful jezza

Growster. Just don't know what to say after listening to one of the most inspiring interpretations of that great piece of music that I've ever heard. Yesterday I found someone on line who played The Moonlight Sonata just as I used to like to do. I've just had a sudden fancy that I could write a poem where the words would combine with the music. Do you think I could do that? Well, I'll have a jolly good try.

Honestly you lot - normal you are.

Recommendation from grandson (who is a decent violinist) from his university days - Calandonia - there's a drummer there who is a legend in Glasgow.

Mind you - slightly different line up with a decent piper - Having played the Northumbrian pipes I appreciate some skill there though the mad drummer still appears.

I'm told on forum elsewhere that this is quite the normal side of eccentric and even quite quiet in comparison to other listening habits.
