Came across a site called "Ironpumacustoms.co.uk" depicting a Suffolk 75cc tear down and rebuild. From the home page scroll to cars and mechanics then further to other cars and guides and you will find "Suffolk rebuild". Narrative and pictures are good (5 pages) and may help you sort a naughty engine. A carburettor clean and tune is to follow soon.

thats great, i have an old qualcast rotovator with said engine, im not intending to strip it down as it runs well but will come in handy when it gets its yearly once over.

just one thing, what engine oil should it run on? i cant make out what it says on the plate on mine so run it on lawnmower engine oil

oil to use with
 Qualcast Cultimatic B66

Do keep a good check on the sump oil...check and top up, if required, before every run.
Sae30 is the oil to use or Sae20w50.
The engine oil should be visible when you remove the oil filler cap (with engine switched off, of course.!!)...It should be full so that with the engine set level the oil is level with the lip of the filler hole.. ie; anymore and it would run out.
