Sour dough bread

Just wanted to crow for a minute. My husband has coeliac disease which means he is gluten-intolerant. He and I have been experimenting with gluten-free breads for years, but I always figured you couldn't do sourdough starter without wheat. Just on a whim a few days ago I mixed some brown rice flour and water the way I would with wheat flour to make sourdough starter, and set it on the counter to "wake up" next to my regular starter, which I had just fed in preparation for making bread. Lo and behold, it only took 3 days for the rice flour mix to get bubbly and sour-smelling, and I can't wait to try making a GF bread for my hubby. He'll go nuts! Wish me luck.
