I am totally fed up with the trays cracking in the middle whenever I have to move them!
The problem is that it does not seem to matter where I go they all seem to be the same thin cheap plastic, just some places are more expensive.
I don't want to spend a fortune on them but does anyone know where I can get some that will last a few seasons without breaking everytime they are moved?

Yes, they are a pain in the neck. You either have to double up to make them a bit safer, or you pay a bit more and get some sturdy ones from Wilko, that will last you forever. Better for the planet too

Here's my solution.


Mushroom trays and clear trays make a good small propagator, thank you Mr $ainsbury,  Transplant into coffee machine cups and the larger mushroom trays (market size) take 20 coffee cups nicely.

If they crack,  chuck 'em and 'aquire' some more!    Cheers,     Tony.

I use the mushroom boxes but they last forever anorl    I like the idea of things lasting as they're not cluttering up landfill.  My husband will insist on buying supermarket plumbs and the only good thing about those is the punnet they're packed in. Lovely little seedtray that is
