Have just emptied first bag of Charlotte's  , two seed potatoes have produced approx 16oz ( 400g )  harvest.
Regular watering , yet growing medium very dry. Mix of soil , own compost and potato fertilizer.
There is plenty of foliage , stalks between 2 and 3 feet long which have some large pea size 'potatoes'  showing. Planted in early April.

Have I been unlucky with the recent weather or have I missed something ?

I've had the same when growing in bags, bumper harvests one year, virtually nothing the next, can be very disappointing turning out a bag youve been watering and earthing up for months to find a few straggly spuds.

I've experimented planting 2, 3 and 4 to a bag, using potato fertiliser, watering differently etc and the outcomes all appear to be random. Must just be the heat this year...

My wife grows Charlotte in patio bags, this year's have  been very disappointing, small growth and very dry, not creamy at all!

Probably too late now, but if you put the plants back in the bags those pea sized spuds will grow to give a second harvest in a few weeks time.

Second bag has given 27 oz  (675 g ) enough for a meal  , AND a 50% increase!!     Being optimistic , shall be interested in the next bag.

I’ve entered the potato in a bag competition for our garden club show, it’s due to be emptied out the week after next, I probably can’t do worse than the last 2 years! I thought at one point it had finished but then it’s put up some new shoots, so who knows? With a £50 prize it’s worth the 50p entry fee.

Tenhens, you answered the question in your first post. " Watered regularly but compost dry".

Regular watering doesn't mean enough water.

I've the same happen to me I put it down too not enough water.  Look at growing under plastic or straw next year.
