the plot next to mine has peas that he is picking now,mine are still flat pods,he plants then in december,do you need a special .variety for dec planting,ty

It's usually Douce de Provence that's autumn sown - does he cloche them when planted in December, or sow them in the greenhouse, as they need a soil temperature of about 6C to germinate :unsure:

Hi m1ckz, Why not ask?  If you tack the question on the back of a positive remark, many people will be more than happy to share their info.  Something like "Wow, your peas have done great, can I ask what variety they are?" usually works.

Why don't you ask him nicely if he would save some seed for you for next year, you could always swop for something else.

I planted mine end of last November, the Pea veriaty was called 'Meteor'.

sow direct in soil, netted when young to avoid mice and birds,

they are now producing heavy

recomand it
