Title: Anything in Here The Girls Cant Eat?
Post by: SurreyLass on August 16, 2012, 12:40
I have been given 2 bags of a new wild bird product.
I dont want to encourage more wild birds in my garden, but wondered if the girls could eat this?

The stuff in it is; kibbled wheat, red millet, safflowers, kibbled maize, sunflower hearts, whole nakes oats, flaked naked oats, pinhead oats, red ari, white millet, kibbled peanuts and oyster shell grit.

Anyone?

With the oats, sunflowers and peanuts I'd say it sounds quite fatty so limited quanties, not sure if there's anything they "shouldn't" have per-say, it seems fairly natural...

Perhaps just feed a small amount in the evenings as a treat. :)

Oh they like it - they go all squeaky when I sprinkle some in!

I am just giving them a liberal handful at about 7.00pm - they seem to like it!

Our girls like a treat of canary seed.
Apparently its full of omega 3,6&9 which is good for them.
Otherwise they have layers pellest and corn and whatever greens have gone over on the allotment!

They like cooked pasta too ;)
