Title: Sweetcorn and dwarf French beans in greenhouse results.
Post by: Goosegirl on January 06, 2013, 13:31
Well - I know this year has been bad for a lot of stuff outdoors, but this trial was a success! I had three sweetcorn plants outside and, despite the windy site, weren't very well pollinated. The greenhouse ones were tapped on their stems (puff - lots of pollen everywhere) and we got full, tasty cobs on all twelve. The French beans were stagger-sown in pots and settled in nicely in front and between the corn and we got a lovely crop. Will do it again this year, as I can't grow tasty toms, so need to use the bed for something productive.

Why can't you grow toms?

We've found french beans do very well in the polytunnel, as does minipop corn. :)

Early french beans in the greenhouse are nearly always a huge success (The mice ate the seeds one year  :( )
