« on: March 29, 2010, 19:58 »
Are any of these offered by the big stores any good ? I live in Cardiff and want to buy a decent shed at a decent price?

Any of the big DIY stores will do that size also try places like Wilko's  & online sellers

I have had a 6 x4 shed for years, we bought it from Wickes.  The thing is its now too small and I want to buy another one.
Has anyone tried 'buysheds direct' or 'gardenbuildings direct'?  I'm after a 6 x8 now.

I bought a 10 x 6 budget shed from Shedstore a few years ago, and have found it OK. It was a budget shed, though made from shiplap not overlap - i was particularly keen on that.

I couldn't match the price elsewhere and have to say for what it cost it's done the job. the panels all fitted together well, there was plenty of felt to roof it properly, it came with all the nice bits like end trims which I wasn't expecting for the price I paid.

The downsides were several knot holes which I had to fill, the plastic windows are a bit flimsy, and I would have liked the floor a bit more solid but I don't think you can knock it for the price.
I hoe, I hoe, it's off to weed I go.

Take into account delivery, if needed, as a large store might have difficulty delivering to an allotment as postcode is needed. I got mine from a garden centre. Also think how you will lock it.  Could try freecycle.
