Hi I have three new hens that I have been giving growers pelllets to. My old hen is eating their food and they are eating hers. They are 13 weeks old tomorrow. I am having difficulty in getting hold of growers pellets and wondered if it was too early to put them on layers. Dont want to cause them problems thanks

does your growers pellets have acs in them? if so you shouldn't eat the eggs that your layers lay if they have eaten the growers feed.

Introducing too much calcium to the diet too soon can cause the bones to harden prematurely, which can cause problems.

Where do you live, I'm sure someone in your area could recommend where to get growers.

And as Joyful said, if your gorwers is medicated, then you shouldn't eat the eggs from the laying hens which are also eating it.
