Title: protecting pumpkins
Post by: Snap Dragon on September 30, 2008, 23:06
As it's getting colder now should my Mum be putting some fleece over her pumpkins or is it time to cut them and bring them home from the lottie.

We're going to check on them tomorrow so I'll try to remember my camera for some pics!

The pumpkin itself will be ok until the first frost, after that the plant will die and you can take it home.

Just got back from Mums plot... we brought the pumpkins home as the stems had started to rot anyway and it is very wet up there!

They are at present on the garage floor on a blanket.

Will they be ok like this till halloween or will they need to be lifted off the floor?

I'll post some pics later when I get them off my phone!
