Sling them on top of some seed compost, don't cover at all, tie them up in a poly bag. Never failed for me.

I read as far as this got last night, got confused (my seeds came without instructions) and have sown half covered and half not, just to be on the safe side. 

No idea how many ended up in the little tray - the seeds are like dust and my kitchen light is a little dim.....

Ooh I am still waiting for mine - sowed on Sunday but am desperate for stuff to starts germinating! Leeks to be planted this weekend! I have followed your advice about cat litter trays and have bought and pierced one all ready (the hot skewer tip worked a treat despite my scepticism)

Have tried again! Covered the seed with a plastic lid and kept them in the utility until they sprout!

And I managed to count them again too
Don't they pong! And I have a stinky cold!

Update!

I may be inundated with celeriac this year!

Have just been out to the greenhouse in the bitterly cold wind and the original planting in february are now poking through! :happy:

However, the ones I sowed on 5 March (indoors in the utility) haven't peeped yet!

Ok I am feeling better that the ones I sowed on the 3rd haven't come up yet. ( I have done some uncovered ones yesterday to make sure)
