Title: Green Beetle on Potato Plant
Post by: MattieG on June 18, 2011, 12:02
Hi All

Just doing my daily check on my potato pants and have discovered on one of them there is about 4 or 5 green beetles the same colour as the leaves.

Ive tried searcing google and I dont think they are colorado beetles (if you can even get them over here) but does anyone know what they are and if they are doing any damamge?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks
Mattie

Have a search for capsid bugs and shield bugs.

Common Shield bugs are sap suckers, but do little damage.

I get them on my raspberries, but leave them alone.

The Southern Shield has recently appeared and can be more of a nuisance.
