Refuge update time!!!
Good news. The Doge de Bordeaux (or what ever he is) is off to Barcelona to a specialist refuge- so this week I am keeping away from the refuge until he has gone. Just thinking about him makes my hands sweat with nerves!
Peluso, a fat boy, who is about 17months old is being adopted, he is off to the UK to live, Manchester I think. The refuge that has arranged the adoption for us (a Galgo refuge that has taken us under it´s wing) is helping us find new homes for the dogs. They will take Shannon, Peluso´s sister too, but not to adopt, to go to the refuge, where she will get better attention, she is very nervous. There are people around there most of the day, so she will, hopefully, be less scared. She stayed with us for a littlewhile, she was sterilised and ripped out the stitches and her internal organs popped out
so she was re-operated on and was fine
you can´t even see the scar!
Once Peluso is off we can buy a new plug for the bath that is on the field, he steals it and runs off with it! When he was a pup he would dig and dig in the bowl of water until the dish was empty then run off with it in his mouth!!
Their Mum, Celeste, or Shy dog as I call her, is possibly going to Finland!!! A lady is in contact with me, the Galgo people will find out how to transport her there and the cost, she would have to fly I think. It would be wonderful for Shy dog, she is such a lovely dog, well deserving a home. She is, I think, the best dog at the refuge. Here she is:
Now as for the Jack Russel pup, or even Tibet (the dog who had the operation) they can be transported to the UK easily- so if anyone wants to adopt, I do not think it is OTT expensive transporting them off! The Galgo people can do all the arrangements for us.
The Galgo rescue people are also taking Gilda, a Galgo/Podenco cross. She is a big lean girl. They do not have a home for her to go to, but being at their refuge she will stand a much better chance, as they specialise in her type of dogs.
2 of the big pups have been adopted (photo coming later) and the small cute pups also, 2 possibly adopted, but one is supposed to be going to a girls granny as a present, the granny is 82 years old, so we might turn them down, as the old girl does not get out much. She can have Pumba free, he is a grumpy dog who needs a quiet house!!!
I have just remembered, I am supposed to ebe emailing the pup photos to the galgo lady!!
