You don't, you buy them.   Growing onion sets is a specialist occupation.  :D

another one about my onions been on the allotment and two of my red onions are starting to go to seed before the bulb has formed if i take off the seed head will it harm the onion :roll:

If you mean 'how do you grow onions from sets?", the simple answer is - you buy them early spring, push them in the ground. Sit around for 5 months or so, then harvest the onions. Except............
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

In truth, that is what I understood the question to be.  Especially given the time of year.
