Today I tipped out another bucket of Pentland Javelin potatoes and cut 2 cabbages, but by the time I cut off the slugged leaves, I was left with 2 small hearts for coleslaw  ::)
I picked the last fat pods of Mennonite beans for next years seed, a very poor year for beans here - not enough bean seeds for sharing, that's for sure.
Plot neighbour gave me a carrier bag of lovely ripe quinces for jelly in exchange for what was left of the red currants on my plot  8)

Picked enough tomatoes for 3 big roasting trays of tomatoes for passata making. Cornue des Andes, Kibits and the stars this year, Reif's Red Heart. They were simply ginormous
Shown here with a Rosella cherry tom for size reference

Big load today.  There are also spuds and squash, but they are in the shed to be dealt with tomorrow.

Plenty here to keep me busy - courgettes, mini white cucumbers, beetroot, turnips, khol rabi, cabbage and some borlotti beans.  That reminds me, there are seed crop beans that I slung in the shed for another day as well

Red chilli peppers, cherry tomatoes, a load of beetroot to boil and pickle tomorrow (one perk of working from home).

Loads of Roma tomatoes.
Everything that you see on the countertop was picked today. The tomatoes in the red bowl were harvested yesterday. It's time to share some with my neighbor, he's getting the ones sitting on the paper bag, and possibly a few more.

Just a few Roma tomatoes and ripe Serrano chilies.

Both are from 50 cent packets of seed purchased early this year. I'm getting high production from both types of plant.  I've probably picked close to a peck of tomatoes this season, possibly more.

Three sweetcorn cobs from an otherwise poor showing, plus the polytunnel grown pumpkin. Nowhere near as big as I'd aimed for but I've not had the time to spoil the plant adequately for a monster.

Today’s harvest, checked the brassica cage in case there was another cauliflower & found this beauty, brick for size comparison. Also picked yet another vase of dahlias this time from the garden

They taste(d) good!

I inherited the plant and in the 4 years previous to this it's not produced as much as a flower. Was on a last chance this year but has earned a reprieve.......for now at least.
