Growing potatoes
« on: October 09, 2017, 17:57 »
I have read comments about scabby potatoes and note it could be lack of water maybe?

I grew them in builders bag, I read they get bacteria. Could this be made worse be the bags rather than in the ground, in additional, hence why they were dry.

Thank you

Dryness can result in common potato scab, yes.  Also an alkaline soil.

I wouldn't have thought the bags themselves had the pathogen, but depending on your watering regime and the soil you used (if instead of compost), drying out might have been an issue.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
