Hi I've nearly finished completing building my run and should be ready for getting my first chickens next weekend.

My fence is 5ft high, I'm worried how high the chickens I was thinking of getting can jump/fly.  I wanted a speckled, a warren, a white star and a moorland ranger.

If any of you on here have these birds can you tell me how flighty they are please!!

Don't know about the other two but the White Star and Warren could be flighty and a 5 foot fence would be no problem I wouldn't have thought. I clipped my girls wings but it made no difference so I gave up doing it.   My friends bantams and warrens managed to fly out at 6' and me and the kids returning from school had a heck of a job rounding them up. They were unclipped and she clipped them immediately but she said they were still attempting it    I think maybe it's best to get the area netted (rigid wire netting) over the top if needs be to keep them in and fox out

I had a similar run and mine have no trouble with winged clips, they almost jump a fence like that let alone fly over it heh.
